Biography[edit | edit source]
Who could’ve seen that all it took for a prodigal daughter to see some sense would be the end of the world, or that she’d wind up with a Chantry boy?
Her only misfortune in her early life being born second child to the Trevelyan’s main line after an older brother Shannon and before a twin brother, Siân took the earliest opportunity to opt out of the gilded cage her parents were nudging her towards, namely that of marriage to some fat-fingered noble elsewhere in the Free Marches or across the Waking Sea.
To this end, she and her brother Shane fled their home of wealth and privilege to go sell their services to whoever in Orlais would buy them, getting involved in the sorts of mercenary work that nobles outsourced to keep their hands clean and even seeing action in the War of the Lions, until an envoy politely but firmly invited her to Haven to represent their house at the Conclave.
The Breach explosion then changed everything.
Shane was gone, and with him their distant cousin Jovana, representing the “other side” of the Mage-Templar War she’d been trying her best to keep out of, and all she was left with was a mass of questions and a mark on her hand. That, and an equally ignorant crowd ready to put her to death over it.
Sobering up as quickly as she could manage, Siân stepped up to the occasion, ending the demoniac hold over the Templars at Therinfal and enlisting their aid to close the Breach, gaining the trust and respect of a certain Cullen Rutherford, Knight-Captain of the Templars in Kirkwall when the worst of it had gone down.
Pushed even further into responsibility when appointed Inquisitor, she slowly came to understand his long journey from the Tower in Ferelden and why he’d come to the Inquisition, realising beyond her belief that she was starting to fall for a man she’d have considered an utter stick-in-the-mud a lifetime ago.
It may not have been the mould her parents foresaw her filling, but fate certainly had taken her on a path she didn’t see coming either…not that she had any regrets about it at all.
