Callum Vasari is a warrior from the Tevinter Imperium. Being born as a lower class citizen, he had a hard time to make ends meet. By working for a magister, he ended up slipping into the Venatori cult without even really realizing it.
After witnessing the death of a loved one that was partially his fault, and being sent on a mission to the conclave, he decided he wanted out.
He did not expect his way out to be the anchor.

Physical Appearance[]
Callum is 6'2" in height and has a strong muscular build. His skin is tanned brown and his hair is wavey, stopping short before his shoulders. He shaves but always leaves a bit of stubble. He's got two scars on his face from fighting a Qunari in his youth.
Callum's voice is deep but melodic.
Personality[]
Callum is a very upbeat and friendly person, never one to turn down some fun. He also drinks his respect-women-juice every morning. Despite coming from a troubled background, he tries his best to make amends for past mistakes and doesn't dwell on them too much. He has a strong moral compass and has no problem stepping up to give commands. He's the right leader type for the Inquisition.
Sometimes he can be a bit too stubborn though, forgetting to consider other perspectives and alternatives.
On terms of making decisions, he'd rather follow his brain than his gut, which clashes quite a bit with Cyriel's decision making.
Talents and Skills[]
Callum's biggest talent is being able to think rationally in the face of great danger or high emotions. He can keep calm and unbothered where others would lose their cool.
Being a spirit warrior, he's also versed in the art of magic and perception of the fade, despite not being a mage himself.

History[]
Callum was born to a lower class family in Tevinter. He was also born as a woman, but figured out very early on that his gender identity did not match his biological gender. The dysphoria he felt was what drove him to work for a magister pretty early in his life, when he was just 16 years old. The promise of transitioning led him to accept the practice of blood magic and with 17 he underwent a blood magic ritual, that gave him the body he desired. As payment, he indebted himself to the magister wand worked as his personal bodyguard. While he did get paid, all of his money went to his mother and father to help support them.
At the age of 26 he foolishly fell in love with one of the magisters elven slave girls and they had a hidden romance going on for about six months, before Callum was ordered to fetch her for a ritual. So far most of the rituals had just involved bloodletting, so while he felt sick turning in his lover, he didn't think she was in any life-threatening danger. He was wrong. That night he watched a woman die for a demon summoning ritual. That was the night where he understood that magic was dangerous and whatever he was involved in, was not something he supported. But getting out was not as easy as one would think. He had no money, no way to support himself and if he fled he'd just be caught and either tortured, punished or killed. He had been whipped now and again already for simple mistakes. Running away was not an option. Especially, since his parents had just gotten another child, a younger sister. he couldn't risk their lives.
Then he got sent to more missions involving a cult called the venatori. He wasn't aware of what exactly they were doing, as he was just a guard. A pawn, meant to protect the more important mages. He watched them do things that would later make him sick remembering.
When he was at his breaking point he was sent on a most important mission to Orlais. The circles had fallen and a Conclave was to be held at the temple of sacred ashes. He had no info on what they were supposed to be doing there, but whatever it was, it couldn't be good.
The next thing he remembered was waking up with a magical mark on his right hand that would change his entire life, probably for the better.
