Adela Trevelyan (later Trevelyan-Rutherford) is a mage from Ostwick in the Free Marches, Herald of Andraste and the Inquisitor of the second Inquisition.

Physical Appearance

Adela Trevelyan has red hair, pale blue eyes and two scars upon her face - one under her right eye and one above the left side of her upper lip. She stands at 5'6".

Personality

Adela Trevelyan is known for her compassion and friendliness. She is able to connect with other people easily, and see their points of view. She is a strong advocate of equality, though still believes that mages require Templar supervision.

Talents and Skills

She is a Rift Mage, but also favours the use of ice attacks.

Biography

History

Adela was born to Bann Alfred Trevelyan and Lady Elizabeth Trevelyan, formerly Lafaille, and was their second child of four. Adela was closest to her elder sibling, named Alfred for their father, and her next sibling, Victor. At the age of 7, Adela was discovered to have magical abilities and was sent to the Ostwick Circle of Magi for training. Her youngest sibling, Celeste, was born whilst Adela was training in the Circle. In 9:41 Dragon, Adela was sent to Ferelden for the Divine Conclave at Haven.

In-game

Adela Trevelyan was the only survivor of the Divine Conclave when it was blown up. She was taken to Haven by Inquisition soldiers and interrogated by Seeker Cassandra Pentaghast and Sister Leliana. Having a strange new mark upon her left hand, she agreed to go to where the Conclave had been to close the Breach that had opened up in the sky. On her journey to the Conclave, Trevelyan met Varric Tethras, a dwarf, and Solas, a Dalish apostate. They were unable to permanently close the Breach.

Back at Haven, Cassandra and Leliana declared that the 'Inquisition of old' had been reborn with the aims to find out who assassinated Divine Justinia II, who caused the explosion at the Conclave, and to restore order and balance. Trevelyan agreed to help. She met Lady Josephine Montilyet, the Inquisition's ambassador, and Cullen Rutherford, the commander of the Inquisition's forces.

Relationships

Trevelyan quickly fell in love with the Inquisition's army commander, Cullen Rutherford. After the Battle of Haven, Cullen realised his feelings for Trevelyan. They married in 9:43 Dragon at the Winter Palace.
